Piace tanto ai millennials, i nuovi consumatori nati tra il 1980 e gli Anni Duemila, e sempre più alle donne, nuove e attente consumers. La Barbera d’Asti, negli ultimi anni, ha saputo rinnovarsi: è un vino social e divertente con una forte identità di territorio. Esprime il meglio di sé sulle colline intorno a Nizza Monferrato, nel cuore astigiano del Patrimonio Unesco di vigneti. Qui maggio ha il colore “rosso barbera”: sabato 13 e domenica 14 maggio sarà ancora Nizza è Barbera, l’evento diventato un must per tutti i winelover. Due giorni, intensi e divertenti, dedicati alla Barbera d’Asti docg e al Nizza docg.
La kermesse è organizzata da Comune di Nizza Monferrato e Enoteca Regionale di Nizza in collaborazione con Consorzio della Barbera d’Asti e Vini del Monferrato, l’Associazione Produttori del Nizza e Astesana Strada del Vino. Ha il patrocinio della Regione Piemonte, Provincia di Asti e Camera di Commercio di Asti. Anche l’edizione 2017 avrà un programma intenso. Si rinnova al Foro Boario il Barbera Forum con oltre cinquanta produttori con un invito ai Consorzi della Robiola di Roccaverano e del Salame cotto del Monferrato a essere presenti con le loro eccellenze. Due le degustazioni importanti: grandi ospiti i cru del Rodano a cui è dedicata una degustazione sabato mattina guidata dagli enologi Paola Manera e Luigi Bertini (ore 11, giardini di Palazzo Crova). Domenica alle 11, all’Enoteca regionale di Nizza (sala di degustazione), verticale delle 5 migliori annate di Nizza docg, dal 2008 al 2012, a cura dei Produttori del Nizza e dell’Ais. In centro, in piazza del Campanon, c’è il Wine BARbera gestito dall’Associazione italiana sommelier. Ci sono incontri, brindisi e, sabato sera, un notte con musica e negozi aperti. E infine, chiusura con Barbera & Alta Langa in collaborazione con il Consorzio della Barbera dell’Asti e dei Vini del Monferrato e del Consorzio dell’Alta Langa. Al Foro boario per due giorni, si potrà visitare la mostra di sculture in acciaio corten ossidato e tagliato al laser del progetto “Paesaggio disegnato” a cura dello Studio C&C di Paolo Albertelli e Mariagrazia Abbaldo. “Nizza è Barbera è una manifestazione che ha un grande appeal per i consumatori – dice Simone Nosenzo, sindaco di Nizza Monferrato – La nostra città si afferma ogni anno di più come il centro della produzione di qualità della Barbera. Con il nuovo disciplinare del Nizza docg, poi, si è creato l’inizio di percorso virtuoso e ambizioso. Abbiamo aperto una strada nuova che sempre più vignaioli vogliono percorrere”. “È un evento dedicato ai consumers – aggiunge Mauro Damerio, presidente dell’Enoteca regionale del Nizza – in particolare attira i millennials, ma anche un pubblico di stranieri: tedeschi, svizzeri, norvegesi e americani. Il Nizza e la Barbera sono vini giovani e social che hanno grandi potenzialità di comunicazione”.

SABATO 13 MAGGIO. Alle 11, nei giardini di Palazzo Crova, “Alla scoperta dei grandi cru del Rodano”, degustazione guidata a cura dell’enologo Luigi Bertini. Alle 15,30 brindisi d’apertura della manifestazione con la consegna del premio “Tullio Mussa” a un personaggio che si è particolarmente distinto nella promozione della Barbera. Dalle 16,30 alle 20, Barbera Forum nel Foro Boario di piazza Garibaldi, 50 produttori presentano le etichette di Nizza docg, Barbera d’Asti docg e Barbera del Monferrato doc. Assaggi a cura del Consorzio di tutela della Robiola di Roccaverano Dop e dell’Associazione produttori Salame Cotto Monferrato. Dalle 20 Wine BARbera sotto il Campanon, la bella torre del municipio: in assaggio cento barbere selezionate dall’Associazione italiana sommelier. Dalle 19 nelle vie e piazze del centro storico di Nizza, gastronomia, musica e negozi aperti.
