Erbusco (BS), 12 agosto 2016 – Da oggi la Franciacorta dà il via alla vendemmia a partire dai vigneti del versante sud del Monte Orfano, dove la raccolta di Chardonnay, Pinot Nero e Pinot Bianco è sempre anticipata rispetto alle zone più centrali, grazie al particolare microclima che le contraddistingue.
“La situazione in Franciacorta è molto disomogenea quest’anno, per via delle numerose variabili che contraddistinguono le aree del nostro territorio – afferma il Vicepresidente del Consorzio Franciacorta Silvano Brescianini – Ci sono delle zone, ad esempio quelle più a nord, dove serviranno ancora almeno un paio di settimane prima di iniziare la raccolta”.
Il 2016 ha visto un clima altalenante nel quale a consistenti precipitazioni si sono alternate giornate molto calde e umide. Fin dal principio della stagione, apertasi con un regolare germogliamento nei primi giorni di aprile, l’annata è parsa piuttosto precoce, grazie a condizioni climatiche molto favorevoli. Durante le fasi della fioritura e dell’allegagione però, le frequenti piogge e i bruschi abbassamenti della temperatura hanno rallentato il processo di maturazione e in alcuni casi favorito la peronospora. Questo patogeno fungino, che influisce fortunatamente solo sulla quantità prodotta, compromette infatti il passaggio da fiore a frutto, con il mancato sviluppo di alcuni acini all’interno dei singoli grappoli.
Il maltempo del mese di maggio e inizio giugno, con frequenti rovesci e alcune grandinate, ha influenzato negativamente la formazione dei grappoli ed ha comportato, seppur non consistenti, perdite di produzione in termine di volumi. Si prospetta quindi un’annata con delle rese ridotte dispetto al 2015, con una previsione di calo del 10-15 % dei volumi sul totale degli ettari, ma sicuramente di grande qualità. Il clima è stato infatti nel complesso favorevole, poiché l’escursione termica ha permesso una buona maturazione delle uve e un buon bilanciamento tra zuccheri ed acidità.
