PuntoZero è pronta a scrivere una nuova pagina del vino. Dai Colli Berici, in provincia di Vicenza, l’azienda della famiglia de’ Besi lancia la sfida ai grandi vini rossi e racconta un territorio ancora poco conosciuto puntando sui vitigni internazionali. Nei suoi 11 ettari di vigna tra le colline di Lonigo coltiva principalmente Cabernet Sauvignon e Franc, Merlot e Syrah, varietà che si sono adattate perfettamente al clima secco e alle rocce calcaree dei Colli Berici, portando ad espressioni del tutto peculiari. Vini che sanno coniugare eleganza e raffinatezza a potenza e calore.
“Crediamo che questa terra, ricca di bellezza, abbia un enorme potenziale da valorizzare” spiega Marcella Toffano, co-titolare insieme al marito Andrea de’ Besi e alle figlie Carolina e Anna Paola . “La forza e l’eleganza dell’architettura, che ancora vive in queste colline, è un perfetto racconto dell’identità dei vini che qui si producono: vigorosi e importanti. Abbiamo scelto di puntare alla massima qualità, attraverso impianti fitti, basse rese per ettaro e utilizzando in parte la tecnica dell’appassimento: una novità per questo territorio”. Quindi Marcella lancia una provocazione: “I Colli Berici oggi si trovano in una situazione non molto diversa da quella di Bolgheri nei primi anni Ottanta, quando è passata da terra sconosciuta a protagonista assoluta dell’enologia italiana. Potrebbe bastare poco per farli decollare e vorremmo essere noi a dare questa spinta”.
L’azienda si trova tra Lonigo e Sarego, a sud della città di Vicenza. Dopo esperienze agricole nel campo della zootecnica, nel 1994 la famiglia de’ Besi acquista una proprietà sui Colli Berici immersa nel verde. La scoperta di una territorio da valorizzare è seguita dall’incontro con persone che oggi collaborano con la famiglia. In particolare, nel 2006, l’arrivo di Celestino Gaspari, allievo di Giuseppe Quintarelli e consulente per varie aziende, porta l’inizio di un percorso che ha visto le prime bottiglie in commercio solo nel 2015. Oggi i vini sono cinque: un bianco da uve Pinot Bianco (Trasparenza) e quattro rossi da uve Cabernet Sauvignon (Idea), Merlot e Cabernet (Dimezzo), Merlot (Punto) e Syrah (Virgola).
